郭秉文(1880—1969),字鴻聲,江蘇江浦人, 1908年赴美留學,1914年獲哥倫比亞大學教育學博士學位;先后任南京高等師范學校教務主任、校長和東南大學校長。他是在國際舞臺上最為活躍的中國教育家。
