Picabo Street This American alpine racer dominated on the WoAd Cup circuit and also won a silver and gold at the 1994 and 1998 Games, respectively. She was one of the first American skiers to ink a major sponsorship deal when she signed with Chap Stick in the mid-1990s. Tommy noe This crowd-pleaser became the first American male skier to win 2 medals in a single Games when he won gold in the downhill an silver in the super-G at the 1994 Games. Moe's boisterous celebrations and in-your-face interactions with crowds at the bottom of the hill makes him one of the most famous Olympic skiers. Alberto Tomba This Italian alpine skier dominated the sport for nearly a decade, winning 2 golds (slalom, giant slalom) in 1988 in Calgary and another gold (giant slalom) in 1992 in Albertville. Although his technical merit certainly makes him one of the most famous Olympic skiers ever, so does his courage. Toma once asked out German hottie Katarina Witt. Hermann naier The Hermanator won 4 Olympic medals, including 2 gold during his career. The Austrians breed fine alpine skiers but Maier may have been the most physically gifted. He missed the 2002 Games after a nasty leg injury that almost called for amputation, but bounced back in 2006 taking silver and bronze in the super-G and giant slalom, respectively. ……
