本書選擇了大量英漢成語實例進行平行比較研究，對各自成語的來源加以詮釋。作者從英漢成語文化內涵的民族性方面加以考慮，經過大量的分析對比，發現它們之間有三種關系：一致關系、相應關系、不相應關系。本書的目的不僅僅是將英漢成語兩者之間在起源、歷史或文化內涵等方面進行比較，更期望比較文化類同研究在語言學領域有所推廣。希望本書能對讀者在英漢成語的理解和使用上有所幫助，這種幫助是雙向的，既幫助中國人學習和使用英語，也幫助以英語為母語的外國人學習和使用漢語。

趙一鼎，男，1987年生，文學博士。現為山東工商學院外語學院講師、大學英語教研室副主任，美國莫瑞州立大學檔案館研究助理。主要研究方向：英語教學方法、英語語言測試、第二語言習得、跨語言研究。
