Chapter 1 highlights the trend of production and demand of critical metals, and the significance of e-waste recycling, as well as the recovery technologies of indium, rare earths, lithium, cobalt and precious metals. Chapters 2 and 3 present a detailed and comparative presentation of spent petrochemical catalysts and their recovery technologies. Chapter 4 discusses the recovery of platinum group metals from automotive exhaust catalysts. Chapter 6 deals with rare earth elements recycling from waste phosphor by dual hydrochloric acid dissolution from waste fluorescent powders. Chapters 7 and 8 summarizes the research progress of recovery technologies of critical metals from spent lithium-ion batteries and photovoltaic modules.
