Winnie-the-Pooh is the first volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, written by A. A. Milne. The Pooh stories have been translated into many languages, including Alexander Lenard's Latin translation, Winnie ille Pu, which was first published in 1958, and, in 1960, became the only Latin book ever to have been featured on The New York Times Best Seller list.
The book focuses on the adventures of a teddy bear called Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, a small toy pig; Eeyore, a toy donkey; Owl, a live owl; and Rabbit, a live rabbit. The characters of Kanga, a toy kangaroo, and her son Roo are introduced later in the book, in the chapter entitled "In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest and Piglet has a Bath". The bouncy toy-tiger character of Tigger is not introduced until the sequel, The House at Pooh Corner.
In 1961, Walt Disney Productions adapted the Pooh stories into a series of features that would eventually become one of its most successful franchises.

艾倫·米恩（A.A. Milne，1882-1956）生于倫敦，大學(xué)讀的是數(shù)學(xué)，參加過第一次世界大戰(zhàn)，當(dāng)過英國老牌幽默雜志《笨拙》的副主編。在為小朋友寫書以前，他已經(jīng)是一位大作家，寫了許多長短篇小說、劇本、詩歌。不過讓他聞名世界的，還是他的兒童文學(xué)作品。 米恩的兒童文學(xué)作品，主要是四本書，兩本是童話，主角都是小熊維尼：《小熊維尼》（1926）和《小熊維尼角的房子》（1928），兩本是兒童詩：《當(dāng)我們很小的時候》（1924）和《現(xiàn)在我六歲了》（1927）。
