邱東榮主編的《北華捷報溫州史料編譯(1876-1895年)》是由溫州市檔案局和溫州大學口述史研究中心合作編譯的“英文文獻中的溫州資料匯編”第二輯。本書選取了1876年到1895年《北華捷報》中關于溫州社會以及溫州人的報道，按照時間順序，分門別類，進行整理并且編譯，中英文對照，對于了解各個年代溫州社會歷史的變遷非常有意義，具有較高的史料價值。

1876-1895年-《北華捷報》溫州史料編譯-英文文獻中的溫州資料匯編(1876-1949年)-(第二輯) 內容簡介

本書是由溫州市檔案局和溫州大學口述史研究中心合作編譯的“英文文獻中的溫州資料匯編”第二輯。英國商人亨利·奚安門（Henry Shearman）于1850 年8 月3 日在上海英租界創辦周刊《北華捷報》（North-China Herald）；1856 年后，隨著商業廣告增多，《北華捷報》開始增出英文廣告日刊《每日航運新聞》》（Daily Shipping News）。1862 年后更名為《每日航運與商業新聞》（Daily Shipping News and Commercial News，又譯為《航務商業日報》）。自1859 年起，《北華捷報》被英國駐滬領事館指定為公署文告發布機關，得到上海工部局的資助和優先刊載工部局文告和付費廣告的特權，因而一定程度上也反映英國政府的觀點，被視為“英國官報”（Official British Organ）。1864 年7 月1 日《北華捷報》將《每日航運與商業新聞》改為綜合性日報獨立出版。這時，該報館改組為字林洋行，因而當時的中國人將這份“North China Daily News”英文日報譯作《字林西報》。《字林西報》創刊后，《北華捷報》成為《字林西報》的星期附刊繼續出版，其地位與影響力日益下降，1867 年4 月8日后增加商情并易名為《北華捷報與市場報道》（North China Herald and Market Report）繼續出版。1870 年1 月4 日，《北華捷報與市場報道》增出期刊《*高法庭與領事公報》（TheSupreme Court and Consular），不久后兩報合并，更名為《北華捷報及*高法庭與領事館雜志》（North China Herald and Supreme Court and Consular Gazette）繼續出版，并一直出版到1941 年12 月。為便于表達，本書將以《北華捷報》統稱該報紙；而本書則選取1881-1900 年間該報紙有關“溫州”（Wenchow）的主要新聞報道和評論，并按照編年順序加以編輯和翻譯。

溫州市檔案局1986年5月，建立溫州市檔案局。1997年1月溫州市委辦批準溫州市檔案局與溫州市檔案館合并為一個機構，掛兩塊牌子，履行全市檔案事業行政管理與市級檔案保管、利用兩種職能。辦公地點分別設在廣場路原溫州市府大院內與墨池坊1號鹿城區府大院內。2005年8月24日溫州市檔案局（館）搬遷至溫州市府西路81號，新的辦公大樓開始啟用。
