A German girl who became totally blind at the age of 12，has learned at a school for the blind how to skiing, boating and riding a horse. At the same time of learning English, computer, history and literature in the university of Bonn, she learned Tibetan relying on a computer audition audition analyzer. When learning Tibetan, she discovered that there was yet no Tibetan Braille. Then she became the first person in the world to have developed Tibetan Braille.At the age of 27, the girl came to Tibet alone and decided to stay in Lhasa to set up a school for blind children. She taught the kids not only Chinese, English and Tibetan Braille, but also self-esteem, self-respect, self-improvement and gratitude.
