中。在這種情況下，既熟悉服裝生產與經營，又能熟練掌握服裝專業英
語的人才，成了服裝企業急需的“香餑餑”。
為了適應目前的經濟情況，為服裝行業培養更多的綜合人才，筆
者根據自己在合資企業多年的實踐經驗和服裝專業英語教學經驗，精
心編寫了本教材。為方便讀者在有限的時間內，更為有效地學習到實
用的服裝專業英語，本教材以一家從事服裝加工的貿易公司為背景，
以實際生產運作為主線，用英文的形式(配參考譯文)介紹了該服裝公
司的部門劃分、崗位職責和生產運作過程，其中包括樣品試制與確認、
加工／采購合同的簽訂、紙樣制作、裁剪、縫制、生產線平衡、質量控制、
包裝、服裝市場營銷、溝通交流、服裝跟單和商務信函等方面的知識和
相關的工藝、技術實用資料，能讓讀者即學即用，增強職業競爭力。在
內容上，本教材展示了涉外服裝企業的生產運作模式，介紹了服裝企
業常用的英語知識(如選取了許多企業的實際單據和日常公務表格)，
讓讀者在學習專業英語的同時，也掌握了服裝加工貿易企業的生產運
作流程。
本教材由張宏仁主編，張小良副主編，參加編寫的人員還有譚雄
輝、梁娟等，全書由張宏仁統稿與審定。
本書是普通高等教育“十一五”國家級規劃教材(高職高專)之一，
為大專院校、職業大學服裝專業的適用教材，亦可供服裝從業人員學
習、參考。
由于編寫時間較緊，加之編者水平有限，不足之處在所難免，尚祈
有關專家、學者給予指正。

Quality Control and Inspection Report
Part 1 Methods of Inspection
The inspection activity of itself adds nothing to the product. It is only a means
by which information is obtained as a basis for further action.
Effective inspection involves six main functions:
(1) Select the item for inspection, may be a component, subassembly or
finished item;
(2) Define the standard required, specifications, samples, sketches, diagrams;
(3) Examine the item critically by observation, measurement or quantitative
evaluation testing;
(4) Compare the observation with the defined standard;
(5) Decide accepting or not;
(6) Action the item according to the decision, return for correction, go
forward to stock or to next operation etc.
Each of these activities must be completed if inspection is to be effective.
Inspection is "the obtaining of information" about the item or product, Whether the
information is useful to the quality control will determine how effective the
inspection is.
Various methods of carrying out the "inspection" function are in use in the
garment industry. The selection of an appropriate method will be governed by specific
circumstances and aims. Some methods are more suitable for the prevention of errors
or faults, some for controlling the quality of production, and others for determining
the quality level of the finished product.
Inspection Methods in common use in the garment industry are:
( 1 ) Final inspection;
(2) In process inspection;
(3) Centralized inspection;
(4) Patrol inspection;
(5) Sampling inspection;
(6) Directed sampling inspection;
(7) Pre-production inspection;
( 8 ) Total quality control ( quality assurance).
Most garment factories use one or a combination of these methods.
Part 2 Quality Standards
1. Introduction
In clothing industry, "Quality" refers to the standard of work and output. A
manufacturer with a good name or well-known label will never lower the quality of it's
goods to reach the price, profit and output desired, but will seek to use new and
