This textbook series of grammar learning and practice features the core characteristics of “ThreeEasiness” (easy to understand, easy to look up, and easy to remember) and “Three Quickness” (quickto learn, quick to practice, and quick to apply), which are reflected in the fact that each grammaticalpoint consists of explanation and comprehensive exercises. The explanation part includes five sections:grammatical interpretation, common collocations, formulaic formal structures, relevant descriptions,and comparisons, which are clear with prominent key points. The comprehensive exercises are strictlymatched with the explanation part of the grammatical points. The exercises are compiled based on thestructural,semantic,and pragmaticdescriptionsofthegrammatical points,strivingtocombineexplanation with practice and allowing learners to practice as they learn. Professor Li is a Standing Committee member ofthe Teaching Steering Committee of Preparatory Colleges of the China Scholarship Council, a memberof the Professional Committee for Chinese as a Specific Purpose Education of the International Societyfor Chinese Language Teaching, a director of the Eighth Council of the Society on Modernization ofChinese Language, an editorial board member ofInternational Student Education and Management, amember of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, a standing director of the SeventhCouncil of China Association for International Education (CAFSA), and a standing director of theNinth Council of the International Student Affairs Research Branch of the Beijing Association ofHigher Education. Her research mainly focuses on international Chinese teaching, modern Chinesegrammar, and grammar for international Chinese teaching.Tu Aiping(Editor-in-Chief) is an associate professor and a supervisor of postgraduates at the SchoolofInternationalEducationofShenyang Normal University.SheisastandingdirectoroftheProfessional Committee for Language Informatization and Intelligence Research of the Society onModernization of Chinese Language. Her research mainly focuses on contrastive studies betweenChinese and foreign languages, Chinese language acquisition, error analysis, and grammar teaching ofChinese as a foreign language.
