利用紅土鎳礦中生產鎳或鎳鐵的工藝大致可分為火法冶金和濕法冶金兩類。濕法冶金包括直接浸出工藝、預焙燒-浸出工藝;火法冶金包括造锍熔煉工藝、冶煉鎳鐵工藝(回轉窯粒鐵工藝、燒結-高爐工藝和回轉窯預還原-電爐工藝)。近年來我國和世界范圍內紅土鎳礦冶煉鎳鐵工藝發展迅速,但也暴露出原料波動大、工藝適用性差、生產流程長、能耗大、環境污染重等問題,已成為制約鎳鐵工業乃至不銹鋼工業持續健康發展的隱患。 本書作者團隊基于冶金原理進行了十余年基礎研究與技術開發工作,對以紅土鎳礦為原料生產鎳鐵工藝的若干技術瓶頸方面取得突破,實現了低成本、高效率、環境友好的鎳鐵生產。其中包括紅土鎳礦選擇性固態還原技術、紅土鎳礦熔煉渣系調控技術、紅土鎳礦軟熔性能調控技術、鎳鐵冶煉渣的資源化利用技術等。在印尼建設的示范性工廠順利投入運行,對紅土鎳礦冶煉鎳鐵新技術進行了驗證。
