場景 001 A Man and the Little Prince 小王子—— 一個男人在畫羊 The man The man next to the airplane The man next to the airplane is drawing a sheep The man next to the airplane is drawing a sheep for the little prince The man next to the airplane is drawing a sheep for the little prince who he met on the desert. *sheep 羊 *desert 沙漠 “飛機旁邊的這個男人正在給沙漠中遇見的小王子畫一只羊。” 這個場景中，主人公是“The man”，也就是這個男人。“next to the airplane”是用來修飾這個男人的短語，因此要緊跟在主人公的后面。而這個男人“is drawing a sheep（正在畫一只羊）”。為什么要畫羊呢？“for the little prince（是因為小王子的請求）”。從句“who he met on the desert”，是用來修飾小王子的，所以放在“the little prince”的后面。 場景 002 The Picture of a Snake 小王子—— 人們一邊看畫一邊思考 Most people Most people thought of a snake Most people thought of a snake which ate an elephant Most people thought of a snake which ate an elephant in the picture Most people thought of a snake which ate an elephant in the picture as a hat. “大部分人都認為圖中吞下大象的蛇是一頂帽子。” 觀察圖片我們可以發現，人們正在看一幅畫。“Most people”，也就是大部分人，“thought of a snake”，認為這條蛇。但是他們把這條蛇看成了什么呢？“as a hat”，看成了一頂帽子。注意，修飾“a snake”的“which ate an elephant”和“in the picture”應該放在“as a hat”的前面。 場景 003 The Little Prince and His Tiny Planet 小王子—— 他能看到日落 The little prince The little prince can see the sunset The little prince can see the sunset several times a day The little prince can see the sunset several times a day if he moves back a little bit The little prince can see the sunset several times a day if he moves back a little bit, because his planet is very tiny. “因為小王子居住的星球很小，所以小王子只要稍微后退一點，一天之中就能看到數次日落。” “The little prince（小王子）”，“can see the sunset（能看到日落）”。他看到的日落有什么特別之處呢？“several times a day”，原來他一天能看到數次日落。并且后面還有一個條件，那就是“if he moves back a little bit（他只要稍微后退一點）”，就可以看到數次日落了。這又是為什么呢？“because his planet is very tiny（因為他居住的星球很小）”。
