The daylight sank deeper and deeper into the darkness, and the widowed land, whose harvest had been reaped, lay silent. Suddenly a boy’s shrill voice rose into the sky. He traversed the dark unseen, leaving the track of his song across the hush of the evening. His village home lay there at the end of the waste land, beyond the sugar-cane field, hidden among the shadows of the banana and the slender areca-palm, the cocoa-nut and the dark green jack-fruit trees. 新月集 作者簡介
拉賓德拉納特??泰戈爾（1861—1941）：印度詩人，短篇小說作家，作曲家，劇作家，散文家，畫家，1913年獲諾貝爾文學獎。他深刻影響了印度與西方優秀文化的交流融通，被奉為杰出的現代印度藝術大師。 劉偉冬，江蘇南通人，現為南京藝術學院藝術史教授，《美術與設計》主編；同時，從事油畫、小說、散文和詩歌的創作，著有《花景——劉偉冬油畫作品集》、散文集《風鈴》和詩集《無花果》等，譯有《飛鳥集》。
