考慮到市面上已有的《外貿英語函電與會話》、《外貿函電》、《外貿英語口語》等書側重英語語言知識的講解，而《國際貿易實務(雙語)》和其漢語版的重點在國際貿易、進出口業務知識，我們編寫這本《實用外貿英語》，不是上述兩類教材的簡單重復，力爭有所突破，以“好用、務實、有特色”為宗旨，在遵循外貿業務準確清晰、英語地道純正原則的基礎上，力求不只灌輸知識，盡可能提升能力，將國際貿易中*廣泛使用的語言——英語與國際貿易業務充分融合，讓學習者能實實在在地運用英語和外貿業務技巧解決些問題，使外貿談判順利、經營順暢，為國際經貿復合型人才的培養作點兒努力。為此，編者結合自身長期的外貿從業經驗和外貿英語教學經驗，并參考大量專家學者的著作，對編寫方案、結構和內容，作了一些特別的安排。本書中“外貿”和“英語”，不再互為所謂“定語”與“主語”，每一單元中專門著有一節純英文的Solution to Problem(解決之道)。 全書分11個單元(Unit)，內容涉及外貿業務流程的各環節，包括建立業務聯系、詢盤和答復、報價、還盤、接受、訂貨、簽約、支付、備貨、包裝、檢驗、裝運、保險、異議、索賠、仲裁等，每單元基本上分5節(section)，第1節介紹(Section 1 Introduction)，中英雙語介紹國際貿易、進出口業務相關知識，由楊云勻負責；第2節函電(Section 2 Correspondence)，外貿業務英文函電配注釋(notes to text)以及實用外貿函電英語表達方式包括好詞、短語及句型(useful expressions including words, phrases and sentence patterns)，由鄭漢金負責；第3節對話(Section 3 Dialogs )，外貿業務英語對話配注釋(notes)，由馬俊負責；第4節練習(Section 4 Exercises)，外貿函電、對話各種句型的英漢互譯及場景會話(Role Play)練習，由周艷麗負責，第5節解決之道(Section 5 Solution to Problem)，運用英語解決外貿談判、經營問題，由馬俊負責。馬俊負責本書的編寫構思、方案、框架和校對工作，鄭漢金還負責附錄1~4(Appendix 1-4)的編寫，周艷麗還負責附錄5(Appendix 5)的編寫。 本書可作為大專院校外經貿專業的外貿英語教材使用，也可供外經貿從業者和廣大英語愛好者自學使用。
