On several occasions since 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of China’s active participation in the international efforts to reform the system of global governance. In China and Cybersecurity, the authors summarize China’s efforts to work with other countries in promoting the reform of the international cyberspace governance system with a view to establishing a safe, open, and cooperative cyberspace, and building a multilateral, democratic, and transparent framework for global Internet management. The book also covers China’s involvement in the formulation of related international regulations, hosting the World Internet Conference, and raising the awareness of cybersecurity among Chinese netizens.
