Douglas E. Comer博士是TCP/IP協議和因特網的國際公認專家。自20世紀70年代末、80年代初形成因特網以來,他就一直致力于因特網的研究工作,他也是負責指導因特網開發的因特網結構委員會(IAB)的成員,還是CSNET技術委員會的主席和CSNET執行委員會的成員。 Comer博士是普度大學計算機科學系的教授,他主要教授計算機網絡、因特網和操作系統的課程,并進行相關的研究。除了撰寫一系列暢銷的技術書籍之外,他還是Software-Practice and Experience雜志的北美地區編輯。
