《大學體驗英語聽說教程(第3冊)》為《聽說教程》第3冊。《聽說教程》足根據朗文出版社*新出版的《Impact Listening》英語聽說教材，同時結合教育部1999年頒布的《大學英語教學大綱》[修訂本]的要求改編而成的。原書以聽力教學為主，輔之以一定的口語練習，較好地體現了當代外語教學中先進的教學理念和研究成果，其教學內容、教學方式和教學安排也基本符合我國大學英語聽說教學的要求。改編中，我們一方面力求保持原書在聽說教學方面的優點，對不適合中國學生的練習活動和語言材料進行了適當的修改：另一方面進一步改進和強化了口語練習，彌補了原書聽說訓練不平衡以及與中國大學生生活聯系不緊密的缺陷，強化了本系列教程所強調的“體驗”性。
